COMMUNICATION AND MASS MEDIA
Radio Stations
There are two (2) radio stations operating in the city, namely: the Radio Bayanihan System (RBS) - DWAM and the Radio Balisong - DZBR. The two stations are both in the Amplitude Modulation (AM) Band. These two radio stations provide varied entertainment/information programs for the residents of the city and other city populace nearby localities in the region.
Telegraph/Telegram/Messengerial (Courier) Services
The Radio Communication of the Philippines, Incorporated (RCPI) and the Philippine Telephone and Telegraph Company (PT&T) offer private telegraph/telegram services in addition to the facilities of the government owned Bureau of Telecommunications (BUTEL) which provides both the telex and telegraph services. However, messengerial services of RCPI and PT&T are limited only for their company use. At present, there are seven (7) messengerial services operating in the city which include the Philippine Postal Corporation, JRS Express, DHL Philippines Corporation, LBC, Aboitiz Express, EXL Worldwide Express, and Kabayan Forwarders Incorporated.
Telephone System
Since 1996, the Philippine Long Distance and Telephone Company (PLDT) served a total of 11,888 subscribers and has operated 35 public pay phone booths installed in the different strategic places within the Poblacion.
Globe Telecom, a newly operating telecommunication system company in the city has also provided a land phone connection services to about 14,074 subscribers. Moreover, mobile phone services are presently being provided by Smart, Extelcom & Globe Tel and Mobiline (Piltel).
Publication
All daily circulated national newspapers, tabloids and magazines are readily available in the city. There are also six (6) locally published newspapers like the Batangas Post, Batangan Publications, Batangueno, Batangas Ngayon, Eh Di Balita, Sun Star People's Courier and Batangas Express Balita which are being regularly circulated.
