Public Market

The city has three existing public markets. The old market at the Poblacion which was destroyed by the fire in 1982 has been temporarily reconstructed. Dry good are the main commodities that can be found in this old market.

The other market is the Don Julian Pastor Memorial Market in Brgy. Cuta some 500 meters away from the old market which was constructed 1977. This also served as the "bagsakan area" for locally produced fruits and vegetables.

The third market was constructed through a financial assistance provided by the Economic Support Funds Secretariat (ESFS) under the Office of the President and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This market which is adjacent to DJPMM was inaugurated last February 3,1993 with 363 stalls for fruits/vegetables and dry goods.

Commercial Area

The recent identification of the city as an industrial growth center in the region and the focal point of the CALABARZON program resulted to the proliferation of many business establishments in the city's Central Business District (CBD). The significant increase in the number of migrants in the city is also noticeable. At present, there are numbers of semi-high rise buildings at the CBD. Several of the existing business establishments in the city have already have expanded and renovated their own buildings.

City Slaughterhouse and Auction Market

A new and modem City Slaughterhouse was constructed adjacent to the old slaughterhouse. This new slaughterhouse is highly mechanized and its management, operation and maintenance was based by the city government to a private company. It started its operation last December 1997. The old slaughterhouse was dismantled and the area was cleared.

The City Auction Market is located adjacent to the Office of the City Veterinarian and Agricultural Services in Brgy. Bolbok. The auctioning of livestock particularly cattle is regularly done on Thursdays. Its operation is under the administration of the city government.
